I am the author of picture books Professor McQuark and the Oojamaflip and The Snowflake Mistake, plus junior fiction title Letter to Pluto, all published by Maverick Arts Publishing. My third picture book The Snugglewump is due in May 2017.
My articles on writing have appeared in Writing Magazine and my chapter on social media for writers is in the second edition of The Creative Writing Handbook published by Edinburgh University Press. I have also had short stories in various small press anthologies and websites.
My other love is writing plays and sketches. My full length farce Never Mind the Butler and short play Warm, Hot, Getting Hotter are published by Lazy Bee Scripts. My short plays Brought to Book and Mr Robertson’s Blood Test were performed at Pint Sized Plays and are now published in Pint Sized Plays 2. I have had six other short plays staged by Ghost Dog Productions and a rehearsed reading at Wimbledon Bookfest by Attic Theatre Company. I love writing for my local amateur dramatics group as well.
I enjoy researching information and helping out other writers which is how this site has come about. It’s taken me fifteen years to get published so I know what it’s like when you’re submitting and submitting and feel like you are getting nowhere! Sometimes it feels like a brick wall, but there are people out there reading your work, you just have to find the right person at the right time in the right place with the right manuscript!
I also created Plastic St, a soap set in a land of plastic characters with its own behind-the-scenes documentaries and theme tune! And last but not least I also have sites for my pet portraits and free downloadable cootie catchers (fortune tellers).
