I’m very pleased to share with you that I can now offer an 6 week online course in writing picture books. I’m really excited about this as it’s something I’ve been wanting to create for ages, and I’ve tried to include everything I wish I’d known at the beginning (and some things I’m still learning now)!
The course covers researching, drafting, using appropriate language, crafting plots, creating memorable characters, how to lay out your text and how to approach publishers and/or agents. By the end of the course you will have created a final (or close to final) draft of a complete picture book, with feedback from me all the way. Although the course materials will be sent once a week, there is no time limit so you can set the pace yourself.

I have one query, which is would I be able to submit my illustrations as a PDF, as I draw by hand?
I would like to enrol on your course to begin on May 1st. I would like to pay for this on April 30th by bank transfer for which I would need details please.
Or I could pay by visa. The visa payment would be very good as I could delay the payment a little, as I only work part time.
Or would you accept 2 payments of £75 via bank transfer; the second on June 1st?

This sounds fantastic – I will let me picture book critique group know. Just to check – is it a 1-1 course or group sessions and if so, do you have a group size limit in mind?
Thank you Rachael! Although it will feel like 1:1, it will be a group of people, max 12 at a time. At the moment I have 3 spaces left on the May course and 11 on the September course.
